Reto Weiche
Reto Weiche is a classical guitarist. His performance on stage is characterized by a special understanding of musicality and diversity. Due to his ability of building stirring phrases and his colourful quality of sound, he is able to create a remarkable atmosphere.
Besides of classical music, Reto Weiche also plays Jazz and any kind of electric guitar.
Born 1991 in Berlin, Reto Weiches musical education began at the age of 3 with cello lessons. He took part in youth orchestras, but also performed solo pieces. A decade later, he discovered popular music, bought an electric guitar, taught himself and found a Band. Emerging from earlier projects, his Band "6KornBrot" (active until 2012) successfully took part in competitions and had concerts all over Europe.
With this background, Reto combined his love for the guitar with his enthusiasm for classical music, leading him to take lessons in classical guitar. In 2008, he was accepted as a student of "Musikgymnasium Carl-Phillip-Emanuel Bach Berlin", which is one of three german high schools specialized in musical education. In 2012 he earned 1. prize at "JugendMusiziert" at every level and 2. prize at "BremenGuitarArt".
After finishing his bachelor studies with Eugenia Kanthou and Zoran Dukic in Berlin and the Hague, Reto Weiche finished his masers studies with Johannes Monno and Tillman Reinbeck at HMdK Stuttgart with highest score and distinction.
Besides them, he took lessons with worlds best guitarists such as Pepe Romero, Pavel Steidl, Marcin Dylla, Judicael Perroy, Thomas Müller-Pering, Costas Cotsiolis ....
Besides his activities as a solo guitarist, Reto Weiche is frequently participating in renominated ensembles and orchestras such as the “Asko-Schönberg-Ensemble” (Netherlands), “Brandeburgisches Staatsorchester” (Germany) or “Jugendensemble Neue Musik Berlin” (Germany) and worked under the supervision of Helmut Lachenmann, Howard Griffiths, Reinberg de Leeuw or Moritz Eggert.
